Frequently Asked Questions

Are all services confidential?

Yes. All our services are completely confidential, even if you’re under 18.

Do I need an appointment?

You don’t need an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome any time the clinic is open, and we actually prefer it that way. If you’d rather schedule a time, that’s possible too.

What if I don't live in Waycross?

No problem. IMPACT serves teens from across our 16-county district. You’re welcome here.

How do I enter the building?

You can use the private teen entrance at the back of the clinic and wait in our teen-only waiting room. Parking is also available in the back for easy access.

Do I need to bring my parent or guardian?

No, you don’t have to — you can come on your own. But if you’re comfortable having your parent or guardian join you, or if you have another trusted adult, we encourage you to bring them along for extra support.

What is a trusted adult?

A trusted adult is someone who students view as a reliable and caring source of support. It could be a parent, grandparent, coach, teacher, mentor or any adult whose words and actions make you feel safe.

What is family planning?

Family planning means helping you take control of if or when you want to have children. It includes things like birth control, pregnancy testing, and info on your options. At IMPACT, we’re here to answer your questions, help you make informed choices, and support whatever goals you have for your future.

What types of birth control do you offer?

We offer several options, including the pill, the patch, the ring, the shot (Depo), the implant (Nexplanon), and IUDs like Mirena, Liletta, and Paragard. Our staff can help you decide what’s right for you.

What services are offered for guys?

IMPACT offers care and support for all teens, including info on sexual health, STI testing, general health, and counseling—no matter your gender.

What kind of things can I talk to someone about?

You can talk to us about anything—relationships, stress, school, health, your body, or anything else on your mind. We’re here to listen without judgment.

Can I come just to talk or ask questions?

Yes! You don’t need to get a medical service—you’re welcome to drop in just to ask questions or talk with someone.

What if I'm nervous or unsure about coming in?

That’s totally normal. Our staff is here to help you feel safe, comfortable, and respected. You can even bring a friend or trusted adult if that helps. If you’re not ready to come in just yet, check out our Resource Hub for helpful info you can explore on your own.

From hotline numbers to helpful guides and health tips, our Resource Hub is packed with tools to help you stay informed and confident.

IMPACT Teen Center is based in Waycross, GA, but we’re here for teens across all 16 counties in our district. From health services to support and education, we’re here to help you make confident, informed choices.
