Frequently Asked Questions

Before you come in

Do I need an appointment?

Nope! Walk-ins are welcome any time we’re open. If you’d rather schedule a time, that’s an option too.

Do I need to bring my parent or guardian?

We encourage you to bring your parent, guardian, or another trusted adult for extra support— but it’s not required. You’re welcome to come on your own if that’s what you prefer.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! Friends are welcome to come with you. Just know that during your visit, staff will also meet with you one-on-one so you have private time too.

What if I don't know what service I need?

That’s totally fine. You don’t have to figure it out ahead of time — just come in and we’ll help you get the right care or support.

What if I'm nervous or unsure about coming in?

That’s totally normal. Our staff is here to help you feel safe and comfortable. You can even bring a friend or trusted adult if that helps. Not ready yet? Check out our Resource Hub for info you can explore on your own.

Privacy & Cost

Are all services confidential?

Yes. Everything is private, even if you’re under 18.

Does it cost anything?

Most services for teens are available at little to no cost. If there is ever a fee, we’ll let you know up front.

When You Get Here

What happens when I arrive?

You can use the private teen entrance at the back of the clinic and wait in our teen-only lounge. When it’s your turn, you’ll meet one-on-one with a staff member who’ll walk you through everything and answer your questions.

Services & Support

What is a trusted adult?

A trusted adult is someone who cares about you and makes you feel safe, like a parent, grandparent, teacher, coach, or mentor.

What types of birth control do you offer?

We’ve got options for you! From short-term choices like condoms and daily pills to longer-lasting ones like the patch, the ring, the shot, the implant, or IUDs.

What services are offered for guys?

All services are for every teen, guys included. That means sexual health education, STI testing, counseling, and all other health department services.

Can I come just to talk or ask questions?

Yes! You don’t need a medical service to stop by. Whether it’s stress, relationships, school, or health questions—we’re here to listen without judgment.

What if I don't live in Waycross?
